THE LITTLEST KNOWN HISTORICALLY DESIGNATED BUILDING IN SARASOTA

Picture

Located on 1770 North Tamiami Trail in Sarasota,
This is the first historically designated motel in Sarasota and yet most people do not know of it’s existence.
Why would the Sarasota Herald Tribune not cover it’s historical significance to this great city? The motel was completed in 1950 and was originally called, the Bay Breeze Motel.
Today, this historical structure is home to Studio 41 Photography & Gallery.
Great time and expense was dedicated to renovating this historical piece of history while retaining the very charm that it held over 60 years ago.Visiting it today, you will find a very large assortment of Fine Art Photography compiled from my world travels, documenting historical sites, events and places of interest.
One room in particular at the historical motel, you will find a room solely dedicated to the history of Sarasota.
This includes, memorabilia, nostalgic photos and various artifacts through time. An example of which include an original Payne Park “seat #10″ from the original ballpark. Plus, an original Sarasota Herald Tribune coin slot newspaper rack. The Sarasota Herald Tribune and Observer have never deemed to mention this historical piece of Sarasota history for the last 10 years. The former Real Estate Editor at the Sarasota Herald Tribune, “Herald Bubil” was invited many times to visit, including the ceremonial installation of the “Historical Marker” by the city of Sarasota. Can anyone explain this oversight? Why is this historical Sarasota building and it’s Sarasota museum consistantly over looked? – Berns
